It is always recommended to have travel insurance on any holiday and a sailing course is no exception.
If you have travel insurance included with a bank for example, it may be worth checking they cover sailing/boating holidays.
If you are in the UK we recommend you ask Bishop Skinner Marine for a quote. You do not need to be an RYA member, however, members of the RYA do benefit from a discount.

We do permit smoking aboard but this is limited to on deck and ashore.

We have a student ratio of 4:1, however this can very often be 3:1

You will sleep aboard the boat for the whole duration of your course, including weekends.
The cabins offer individual bunks so although you may share a cabin, you’re not sharing a double bunk like most other schools!

It really depends on what time of year you are joining us.

In summer – shorts and t-shirts is normally more than enough although a light fleece would be prudent as the chill can catch you if you’re on night exercise.

In winter – we recommend you bring layers and some warmer clothing. You will be inside when steering etc but the evening temperatures at sea can be cool. Some light waterproofs are also recommended.

Yes.

Residency ID cards will not permit entry into Gibraltar from Spain (unless you are a Spanish National) and ID cards of any kind are not permitted for entry into Africa.

Our cancellation policy can be found at HERE if you need to cancel your course please contact us for more details

We aim help with courses changes and appreciate as much notice as possible. We are not always able to make such change requests. Our cancellation policy is HERE.

Our first concern for all training courses is safety.

We are fortunate to operate in a well protected training area in an area where the weather is generally favourable.

However, there are times when the weather may be outside what we consider safe limits. In this case courses may need to be postponed/cancelled.

Decisions on any postponements / cancellations will be made at least 24 hours before a course start time.

Delegates will be notified by email.
